a little more country

i hope you don’t mind this accidental week of country, it’s just that i’m falling in love with the place.
as i scurry along this week, trying to keep up i am thinking back to taking this shot with mr. sx-70. i asked lj to pull over as we driving back into town from the property we were staying at. and he finally did after we passed the olive grove and the apple orchards. i was happy he chose this spot to park, as i peered over the grass and fence to this horizon. there was one lone chocolate brown horse, and by the time i took this shot and looked away from the polaroid there were another three of his friends. this time we just watched them as we perched on the hood of the car, for a while. autumn was everywhere.
this is what i’m thinking about today. and this is for all of you, who were wishing for a little quiet yesterday.
happy wednesday.
grey revisited
hello to a week of grey, it seems. and to you dear friends. thank you for your comments and emails on my recent post. it is nice to know that there are folks out there who feel the same.
it is suitably grey and murky today as sydney definitely took a turn towards grey from yesterday afternoon. i took a turn towards autumn this morn and have started the cool winter layers; grey on darker grey and black. i could not be happier.
this morning i was clicking through some more london shots and found this memory which makes me even happier. i had just finished a lovely meal at the rose bakery concession of the dover street market; a quiet lunch where the ladies beside me spoke to the merit of yoga and pilates. i think it is high time i posted about my favourite meals while i was in london {dragging on the travel memories much?}.

oh, today we are on our second everyday polaroid, a little of a whim blog i’ve started to enjoy the everyday through the lense of a polaroid camera. yesterday we visited tommy in london and this morning we visit mathias in berlin. it is wonderfully slow over there as we start quietly quietly, so wonder over to say hi and feel free to join in our photo group, which is there for admirers and polaroiders alike.
good day to you, whether it be grey or otherwise.
nordic bakery love
today, i am back in london via my snap shots. i’m dreaming of fika at nordic bakery::

dreaming of the sticky cinnamon buns and a good cup of coffee.

a little savoury with boiled eggs and anchovies.
i wonder if they are still thinking of opening a bakery in sydney. it would be grand, if so.
sleep: three
sleep was thwarted by a call from london; which was rather funny considering my photograph from yesterday.
still, it was nice to chit-chat with the sis. she reminded me of the things i left behind in her flat back in november and that she would be bringing them back when she is here in april. oh, to have her back will be so fantastic. we already have a dinner date set for some of our favourite and new restaurants.
right now by the window; the curtains are moving like dancers as it storms outside and the rain is heavy and pummeling down so fast it looks a little like snow. this is our summer right now, with this perfect sleeping weather.
back then, there was a bright sun and puffy clouds by the window seat on the way from oslo to helsinki. it had been a dreary moment leaving oslo, mainly due to some journey troubles which saw me miss out on catching that long train journey to bergen and mostly meeting astrid. yet, oslo proved to be a great city, one which i will visit again in spring when there is more light. for now, i have this to remember.
sleep: two
hello friends,
it is only tuesday and it feels like a long week ahead.
by around lunch, i am dreaming of being home getting things done in life which are for those i love. do you feel this way when your 9-5 takes you away from home?
today’s photograph is another capture from my time in london, when i was away from home. i wasn’t getting much sleep through the night due to severe jet lag, so there i was in my sister’s bedroom trying to fall asleep in the late afternoon, after a rather groggy time outdoors.
i remember this moment exactly as there was a lot of hustle and bustle out by the window with office workers making their way home. i remember feeling free, not to be part of that mad-rush, for just a while.
and now it’s time to start winding down for the day.
good evening.
