closed when cold

this weekend past we took a drive to the countryside in the hope of finalising a few more details for our wedding day. but what’s a road trip without a car breaking down. good thing we had some hot belgian waffles to keep us company while the road side service mechanic cooled the engine with litres of water and then found us a mechanic who was open and willing to sort out the problem.

four hours later we were back on the road. just a little cold from the mountain air and a little weary. in hindsight, i think we needed those few hours of doing nothing. a few hours to slow down with each other, even if it was slightly drizzling and freezing cold. we hopped from one foot to the other, walked around and talked about everything except the wedding which today is exactly a month away.

a month to go

to remember

to remember today::

waking in a still warm room and early morning darkness

returning to bed and sleeping through the alarm

a blurry conversation

drinking coffee on the way into town

first popping into the grocery store for snacks

next, the bourke street bakery for breakfast and more snacks

walking to the office, meetings and a long to do list

skipping out early

lunch and dessert with a friend

a bunny rabbit in my coffee

more walking

buses and conversations with strangers

dinner with family

packing for the country

watching the last petals of tulips dry up. remembering their bloom.

good night.

simple favourites

tulips on the second day taken with an sx-70/ 600 film/ without nd filter

good morning.

i am continuing with the tulip study today. these beauties are actually a deep magenta and less of a pink as seen through the lense of a polaroid. while these tulips are one of my favourite type of flower, i really love them when they start to go all droopy after a few days as though standing up tall is just too hard a task.
