bottom half

well, hello.
i haven’t been picking pears for since saturday, but i’ve definitely been away so to speak. our weekends in the country are becoming more and more important to me. the drives don’t seem as long and when we arrive we know which patisserie to go to, we know where to get the milk and bread, we now have a favourite new restaurant. it is starting to feel like home away from home. i am longing to return, so the last couple of days have been a little haze of memories and planning for next month’s visit . the cool of winter chill and warmth from the sun at the same time, crunching leaves through the park, fennel lasagne in a scampi broth, croquembouche for a little girl, and many cups of tea and coffee.
i have a couple polaroids to share with you from the weekend so will have to get scanning soon. until then, i came across a little pattern in my favourites which thrill me. my favourite bottom halfs::

1. bailarinas, 2. i didn’t want to jump,
5. ontuesdayitapdance, 6. paris.lunch,
7. handstand, 8. reflection

i’ve been quiet in this space, i know. it’s just that things are a bit of a whirlwind at the moment. and often i am exhausted and a little bit down. it must be the early darkness of the imminent winter chill and not having as much time for quiet times with so much going on right now.
this weekend i’d like to slow down. and we will in a way with another weekend in the countryside. such beauty to look forward to.
this evening i went through my flickr favourites to inspire me to begin some work, and here is what i saw::

bottom 5. chocshoponilestlouis, 6. bed to be made mess, 7. newroom, 8. at least there is su
good evening to you.
find it where you will

a lovely little surprise in the mail yesterday to find the first volume of lines & shapes. i love how the two centre pages compliment one another with a same object of the umbrella. my favourite pages above.
and below some favourites from the toast home catalogue. it makes me want to be on holiday, under the sun. don’t we all!? let’s exchange voicemail and hundreds of emails for the following:

mountain love
each time we drive out to the countryside, i love it more and more. the open spaces, the horizon with its rolling hills and mountains, dense woodlands. yesterday we had al green for company; and me in the passenger seat had the new frankie. my favourite part in this edition is the lovely layout and photography of the feature; mountain view.

it has been a sleepless week for me for a variety of reasons. doing too much during the day and not having the proper wind-down of an evening.
so, i am thinking/looking to/forward to sleeping and so this coming week i am going to focus my photography on sleep and mornings, as a little visual string on my finger. hopefully it will prompt me to wind-down.
to begin, i plan to spend all of sunday morning asleep. i hope i do, even if i awake i will have to force myself to stay in bed beyond 6am.
why sunday morning? well, tomorrow we are off on another road trip to help plan more details for our wedding in august, so that means an early wake-up to beat the weekend traffic out of the city. hmmm.
good night.
