bottom half

well, hello.
i haven’t been picking pears for since saturday, but i’ve definitely been away so to speak. our weekends in the country are becoming more and more important to me. the drives don’t seem as long and when we arrive we know which patisserie to go to, we know where to get the milk and bread, we now have a favourite new restaurant. it is starting to feel like home away from home. i am longing to return, so the last couple of days have been a little haze of memories and planning for next month’s visit . the cool of winter chill and warmth from the sun at the same time, crunching leaves through the park, fennel lasagne in a scampi broth, croquembouche for a little girl, and many cups of tea and coffee.
i have a couple polaroids to share with you from the weekend so will have to get scanning soon. until then, i came across a little pattern in my favourites which thrill me. my favourite bottom halfs::

1. bailarinas, 2. i didn’t want to jump,
5. ontuesdayitapdance, 6. paris.lunch,
7. handstand, 8. reflection

to remember

to remember today::
waking in a still warm room and early morning darkness
returning to bed and sleeping through the alarm
a blurry conversation
drinking coffee on the way into town
first popping into the grocery store for snacks
next, the bourke street bakery for breakfast and more snacks
walking to the office, meetings and a long to do list
skipping out early
lunch and dessert with a friend
a bunny rabbit in my coffee
more walking
buses and conversations with strangers
dinner with family
packing for the country
watching the last petals of tulips dry up. remembering their bloom.
good night.

i’ve been quiet in this space, i know. it’s just that things are a bit of a whirlwind at the moment. and often i am exhausted and a little bit down. it must be the early darkness of the imminent winter chill and not having as much time for quiet times with so much going on right now.
this weekend i’d like to slow down. and we will in a way with another weekend in the countryside. such beauty to look forward to.
this evening i went through my flickr favourites to inspire me to begin some work, and here is what i saw::

top: 1. untitled, 2. cream, 3. untitled, 4. vanilla soy,
bottom 5. chocshoponilestlouis, 6. bed to be made mess, 7. newroom, 8. at least there is su

good morning.
i am continuing with the tulip study today. these beauties are actually a deep magenta and less of a pink as seen through the lense of a polaroid. while these tulips are one of my favourite type of flower, i really love them when they start to go all droopy after a few days as though standing up tall is just too hard a task.
