dinner plans

on the menu tonight, asparagus and mushroom pasta inspired by a recipe that jördis and mathias, told me about when they were in town last month.
i’ve been craving it ever since, but instead have been making other asparagus dishes such as asparagus and broccoli stir fry and then a fish stew where the asparagus was the final layer before the pot went into the oven for the final stage of cooking. all very delicious, but i still wanted to try this pasta dish: asparagus and pasta and a little creme fraiche, followed a squirt of lemon.
we are going to add a few more things as there has been a request for mushrooms, from the sidelines. and we are going to replace the creme fraiche with freshly grated parmesan and will follow through with a squirt of lime. but those two key ingredients; penne and asparagus are ready to be all delicious together.
so it’s a friday night at home. i have a lot on my mind and a lot to do, but that all can wait. i am sure cooking our meal tonight will help process it all.
i have enjoyed my polaroids this week. the asparagus mis-en-place comes courtesy of the impulse AF and some expired film {dated 2004}. i quite like its touch of whimsy and even murkiness. the tiny wooden spoon was a kind surprise gift from ana. i’ve had it sitting in my kitchen for a while now so tonight, we’ll use it in the cheese bowl.

as i was reading I thought how lovely a bit of parmesan would be with that and then saw you thought the same. i tend not to stop at just a bit of parmesan though… i love it. far too much… have a great night.
