dinner party

friday nights are always a good time in the week. to make it even better is when friends pop by with ingredients and plonk in hand to cook dinner.

and a delicious one at that. mushroom and walnut risotto with asparagus and rocket and avocado salad. really, just delicious…

we ended the night with cupcakes and watching the magnolia swirl.
thanks jördis, mathias, dani and jürgen for a great night. until next time!
lucky
i feel so lucky this week, even with a sorry cough and in the morning a stuffy head cold, it was a happy week of good food, super finds and getting things done.
finding the perfect red shoes for autumn

taking the afternoon off to walk around surry hills under its leafy trees, full of gold and brown

round + light

i am still loving film and until i decide {really decide} which dslr i am going to start working with then i will use mostly film for my lessons in photography.
for today, something round and with light ::

breakfast in oslo of a cakey spiced doughnut called smultring. tusen takk astrid, for reminding me of the name of this norwegian treat.
find it where you will

a lovely little surprise in the mail yesterday to find the first volume of lines & shapes. i love how the two centre pages compliment one another with a same object of the umbrella. my favourite pages above.
and below some favourites from the toast home catalogue. it makes me want to be on holiday, under the sun. don’t we all!? let’s exchange voicemail and hundreds of emails for the following:

on planning bells
we are getting into the fun part of planning our wedding now; with ideas about the catering and cake.
i haven’t mentioned much about our plans on this here blog; save it from becoming a bride blog. but so far we know that we will be having a wedding out of the city, and out in the big brown. there will be a cathedral and a farmhouse. there will be fairy lights and a dessert buffet after lunch. and that is as far as we have gone.
this saturday we meet with the lady who will make our cake. it will be simple affair, but exactly what this means remains to be seen.
for now; this beautiful bowl made for us by caroline will be our inspiration for keeping the plans simple.
