on finding

today on our way to breakfast we stopped by the local st. vinnies for a look see. well i stopped by and had a look while lj waited and tut-tutted at the two olive green chairs which could replace our broken couch. and then i found these two beauties:

:: a little teapot brooch for those special occassions.

:: a service tray for nibbles, deviled eggs et al.

yesterday when bowb, maeve and me were trundling back up oxford street after our excursion to the cofa spring fair, lunch and cupcakes (but that’s another story) we walked past dinosaur designs. i have a little plan to save up for one of their red necklaces so i am always happy for a look-see, even if it is through the shop window. i was telling bowb that i had a similar resin turqouise resin vase like the ones we were oggling in display, except the one i had at home came from the op shop near work. bowb said that they stamp their items for authenticity, and so today while dusting around the house i checked under the vase:

when i first picked it up at the salvos i needed something to brighten up a corner and we also like such suprises on a sunday afternoon of cleaning. i never took the op-shop price tag off and i think i’ll just keep it on as a reminder about finding things and what ‘value’ means: here it was about the shape and colour and how it warms my treasure hunting heart.
