my favourite parts of winter: rust coloured branches on the trees. a yellow-blue sky. a warm bowl of savoury {soup, pasta, stew, curry}. hot chocolate. gloves. a scarf keeping the chill away. snuggles.

- bread: the bottom part of a baguette
- drinks: the first zing of bubbles of champagne
- bbq: hot chicken wings
- cake: the tip of a wedge of cake
- morning: the first sip of coffee
- cheese melt: the top crust on a slice of bread
- lemon squash: the last slurp of the can
- chocolat chaud: the chocolate sludge at the bottom
- rice: the first scoop of fluffy rice from the cooker
- indian food: the crispy edge of a masala dosai
- newspaper: the daily crossword of the broadsheet
- after work: turning the lamp on when i walk into our home
- organising: putting mail back into their respective envelopes after opening
- memories: the person shielding the sun from their eyes in a group photo
- winding down: shutting down the computer in the evening. g’night.

monday stuff
it’s beautiful today, even though it is monday. most of the breakfast tv shows were celebrating all things danish this morning; whatever that means. marzipan?
today i am tempted to catch a bus to balmain for lunch and dessert. and sit in the park with crowded house in the headphones.
