there is a profound difference between having afternoon with a girl and having one with a boy. yesterday, when bowb and i grazed on the delicacies from adriano zumbo, it took nearly two hours over cups of tea and conversation to enjoy two halves. and today after a good walk around the neighbourhood in the sunny chill the boy hacked into the envie tart sitting between two cake forks. taking a good third of the tart in one bite he nodded in agreement when i asked if it was good. we were sharing you see, a virtuous way of enjoying such luxury - dark chocolate ganache with tart raspberries folded through.

the brown macaron would have vanished if i didn’t let out a little yelp as i saw it disappear into his gob. he was kind enough to leave the remains you see above. i was also lucky that he didn’t share the same fondness for the mandarin macaron, citrus-y and smooth.

this zumbo fellow is genius. but how does he get such perfect berries when they are out of season?
