so many possibilites.

i’ve been thinking a lot about lemon curd, mini meringues, santos’ dream cake and madeleines. i think the latter will win because early this morning there was a delicate knock on the door, and if it weren’t for lj trying to wake up with his morning coffee close by i’m sure it would have gone unnoticed and then a note for an in-person collection at the post-office would have been slipped under the door.

behind the door, the post lady with a white box with bright pink type “i hope i didn’t wake you” i heard her say.

it was kind of unfortunate that lj had to sign for it, because the excitement of a delivery was swayed with the tsk-tsking of the purchase power of online shopping. “what?! this isn’t just for me, it’s for bowb too!” i said as i unwrapped the tightly sealed box and revealed two burgundy madeleine trays. and for some reason this made the act of buying more things, ok because the disapproving noises stopped and it was like he never saw the post lady in the first place. strength in numbers!

i’ve never made these small cakes before, but for months now all i’ve wanted to do was to dip a buttery morsel into a cup of black tea. maybe this weekend will be the time for such things.
