weekend things
nearly there! oh hang on, it’s here the friday night in my dreams is here. you know i was dreaming about friday each morning between before 5am. then i’d wake up and think it was saturday. it was a tough week to say the least.
things i wish i could do this weekend:
- watch paris, je t’aime
- go to the zoo
- bake a dozen or so madeleines and have a cup of tea with my sister {we’ve been talking about these little cakes each time we’re on the phone, long distance. both of us sipping tea “a batch of madeleines would be good with this tea right now” “some time for tea with you would be be even better”}
intermission
a quince compote for two: 1 medium quince peeled and diced, 1 cinnamon quill, a few cloves 1 star anise, simmered away until the fruit is tender. infact this is what we had for dessert at my friend emily’s house on thursday. it was my favourite dessert of the week. and i think it would only right if i make some to go with pancakes or waffles on a weekend morning {this or next}

i love the photograph of the recent marie claire maison. the teapot, the breakfast tray: it’s all too much. it is also too much to prepare this myself and pretend someone else did instead {ugh. a girl can only dream.
things i will do this weekend:
- find some steel buckets for potted plants on the balcony
- re-join the local library
- and then borrow on beauty by zadie smith {i am looking forward to the release of this book too - via hoping for happy accidents}
- make an apple and cinnamon cake {or maybe quince?}
- split our wardrobes into his and hers {a year of sharing a wardrobe is getting to me, a line has been drawn!}
