i forgot to blog this over the weekend, but my golly what a success it was. a cupcake decorating table will get 10 year old boys and girls milling around just waiting to frost their cupcakes and sprinkle them in chosen colours. it is a good idea to have a selection of colours, because one kid will want purple and the other will want a magenta pink combination. green was also a hit.

something else they loved were the sparkley toffee shards which were poked into the finished creation. pretty simple really; 1 cup of caster sugar and 1/2 a cup of water boiled and then simmered to a golden caramel, poured onto a lined {grease proof paper} baking sheet dotted with silver dragees. allow for it to set and then crack in pieces. one boy said he had never had toffee so sticky or so delicious. i liked him very much.

this week has been about learning for me. learning to be more patient at work. amazing how easier my day was today than yesterday when everything seemed to take on the feeling of a fast slap in the face. i arrived at work with a cup of delicious yoghurt, an hour early anda fresh outlook. i was determined to greet the rest of the week {a case of crisis management} with a smile instead of rolling eyes and a grumpy face. so when the websites i worked hard to complete on time crashed and reverted back to the old design i didn’t flinch. i found a temporary solution and deligated the fix. easy.

i also started learning another language, back to francaise and all its masculin and feminin fun. it’s been great, and gives me even more reason to catch the french film festival {at the request of my teacher} this coming week.
