yesterday i was a little uninspired in the colour department. no soft pales of blue, no duck egg blue, no sky blue, it must be the seasonal colour to have a deep sea blue/green {along with purple and mustard}.

a little late this morning with the new colour, it is saturday afterall. astrid has chosen yellow for today. as you may know it’s a favourite ’round here, so i am hoping to be inspired today. although i don’t know how succesful that’ll be, as it is a homebody day today. the makings of a lemon yoghurt cake {from my favourite cookbook} is proving to be a tasty exercise.

i struck it lucky yesterday with the colour orange. a craving for carrot{and ginger} juice and then a bright little orange car with a warning sticker “don’t mess with texas“.

thank god it’s friday is all i can say, because today santos has chosen blue. perfect really with the sky we have today {how about where you’re at?} today i’ll be focusing on the paler side of blue, so i am hoping to see lots of duck egg blues and similiar hues.

wow! i love all the photos in the stream yesterday, so much vibrant red! i was lucky to have my stripey red skirt washed and ironed, so it was only right that i wear it. there was so much red along my path yesterday that i had to cull some of my photos. perhaps i will need to post the outtakes next week.

and now it’s thursday. polly jean has selected orange for the day. it’s close in range to yesterday’s colour, but different all the same. as polly jean said to me in her email, its the perfect colour for autumn. i hope it brings you inspiration this thursday, nearly the end of the week and nearly the end of april.

you know, when you have something in your head and it won’t rest? it continues to pop in and out of thoughts through the day. in my head it was a picture of a chocolate donut. it was glazed, sticky and sweet. but all temptation was forgone with a cup of rooibos tea {sorry bowb!}.

julie has chosen red to be the colour of wednesday. i have a certain fondness for red in all its shades {cherry, tomato, fire engine}. red is dotted through out my home, and no matter how hard i try to introduce new colour combinations it peeks through. this isn’t a bad thing of course. for me, red can have different meanings {weddings in india, new year in china, the familiar jam jar}. it could mean love, tradition/celebration, danger/anger. whatever it may mean for you, i hope it brings you some inspiration today.

today, so much brown/brun. in my coffee, on my toast, even the lady who i started chatting with on the bus had the most lovely brown hair. the inspiration for this project came from last year’s colo(u)r week {above mosaic} as hosted by mav of port2port. this time around, i thought it would be fun as people joined in to ask them to select a colour for each day. i am a creature of habit, so i may have chosen grey or shades closest to for each day of the week. ana has also created a flickr group for anyone to add their photos for this week. i love someone who appreciates a good cataloguing system {my inner librarian}. feel free to join.
