cheese toasties

without comments

plenty pretty

in this house cheese toasties are a feature for breakfast (with a side of grilled tomatoes and oj) for lunch (with sliced avocado and lots of cracked pepper and lemon fizzy) for dinner (with mushroom and chickpea salad and a beer). of course, not all on the same day. but this little old fashioned toaster would make those kind of ‘meal’s plenty pretty.

wisting

i have wish lists all over the internet. and now i can amalgamate them all, very easily using wists. hurrah! i started my own wists list last night after reading lobbylu’s post. i’ll be adding links to products i take a fancy to, as well as inspirations websites.

fishy noodles

i don’t know what i love more about this bowl. the blue or the fish print. or the possibility of noodles with a tangy fish sauce dressing. from lille.

i have been meaning to visit reverse garbage for a while now. it has been quite a few years since i last visited and i’m quite excited by the prospect of taking the train to marrickville, followed by some good old scavenging. things i’m hoping to find and hoping to make with said finds are …

find:

  • buttons
  • felt twisters
  • felt
  • card stock
  • ribbon
  • corrugated cardboard
  • vintage greeting cards and postcards
  • lino
  • glue
  • ink

make:

  • accessories to wear
  • greeting cards
  • gift tags
  • christmas decorations

fruit as a centre piece

without comments

what would you do with this many apricots?

these golden apricots will be put to good use soon. what kind of good is yet unknown. jam? cake? pie? dried fruit? as they are? jam is always good, especially months after their season. maybe when it is cold and you need to remember the end of spring you could pop open a jar after it has spent up to three months in a darkened corner, quietly preserving away, getting that mellow apricot flavour. perfect with a walnut loaf.

yes, i think jam would be nice indeed.

for now, i quite like them piled high, in a gray bowl on the table, bright and cheerful in the morning light.
